Abstract:

Many autism service providers are finding themselves in situations where they can no longer allow behavior technicians without certification as an RBT to provider billable services. This webinar will address those questions raised by autism service providers about the logistics of shifting to an RBT-only staffing system given these new requirements.

This 60-minute presentation will provide an in-depth look at The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment’s structured approach to hiring and onboarding behavior technicians, designed to cultivate high-quality Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). Attendees will learn how the Center integrates values-based recruitment, competency-driven onboarding, and ongoing performance support to ensure technicians are not only well-prepared for certification but also aligned with the clinical and cultural standards of the organization.

The session will outline each phase of the process—from initial candidate screening and interview protocols to onboarding milestones, mentorship systems, and fidelity checks. Emphasis will be placed on how this process supports technician growth in the ABA therapy clinic setting. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to enhance their own hiring and onboarding systems, ultimately driving better outcomes for clients and teams alike.
