Released: January, 31 2022
Chapter Overview:
All employers have a responsibility to provide a safe workplace (Occupational Health and Safety Administration [OSHA], n.d.-a). Given the population they serve, autism service provider organizations face unique challenges in maintaining the health and safety of their employees, clients, and other stakeholders. Although most autism service provider organizations share some of these challenges, there may be substantial differences among organizations in models of service delivery, physical sites, and individual client considerations. Therefore, it is important to undertake a continuous cycle of risk management in order to individualize risk management strategies and adapt to changing risks to health and safety.
